Last month, we celebrated Collab Fertility’s 1st birthday with a fabulous party, and we’re feeling so grateful for all we’ve built together. In just one year, we’ve welcomed 4 Collab babies and have 38 more on the way. While many of our patients are from the Bay Area, others have traveled from Sacramento, Napa, San Jose, and beyond to receive care with us. Backed by a stellar, compassionate team of top professionals, we’ve become the most comprehensive fertility center in the East Bay.
From our state-of-the-art IVF lab (the largest in the Bay Area) to our integrative approach, this past year has been about redefining fertility care and helping patients feel informed, supported, and empowered every step of the way.

The Collab Way: a new model of fertility care
One of our proudest achievements this year is the launch of The Collab Way, our evidence-based, whole-person care model. From day one, all of our patients receive practical and supportive guidance on fertility-focused nutrition (with our in-house dietitian, Mimi), reducing environmental toxins, and wellness support, including acupuncture and therapy referrals.
These proactive, personalized strategies can improve fertility outcomes, often reducing the need for more invasive treatments or multiple IVF cycles.

Advancing fertility science
Collab is also home to CLEAN—our new research initiative: the Center for Lifestyle, Environmental Toxins, and Nutrition. Our mission is to study how everyday exposures impact fertility and future generations.
We’re proud to have secured funding for our first project: testing a glass embryo culture dish to replace the industry-standard plastic. If successful, this could lead to better IVF outcomes and help us create the first all-glass IVF lab in the world.

Does sperm morphology really matter for fertility?
This Men’s Health Month, we’re tackling a common fertility myth: that low sperm morphology means infertility. In reality, many men with poor morphology can still conceive—especially when total motile sperm count is strong. Read our latest blog to learn what sperm morphology really means and how to improve overall sperm health.

Third-party reproduction: what you need to know
From egg and sperm donors to gestational carriers, our Q&A with our third party reproduction expert Angela Hartshorn offers clear, compassionate guidance. She breaks down what to expect, what to consider, and how Collab Fertility supports you at every step.

Collab in the community
We were thrilled to be featured in the Shadelands Scene for our one-year anniversary celebration! It’s an honor to be recognized in the community we love and serve.
Collab Fertility Founder & Medical Director Thalia Segal, MD, has much to be thankful for these days, and is enthusiastic in expressing her appreciation to her team, her medical partners, her patients, her family, and the community in which she lives and works. Read more…
None of this would be possible without our incredible team, our referring providers, and of course, you, our patients and supporters. We’re deeply honored by your trust, and we’re just getting started.
Here’s to year two, to growing families, and to transforming fertility care together.
With care,
The Collab Fertility Team
